Officially inaugurated 35 years ago when CFR played against Cuba, the stadium Dr. Constantin Radulescu will host starting with September 2008 the most important football events in the history of the Club.
On September 6th 2008, Romania National Team will play against Lithuania on CFR Cluj Stadium. It is the first national team match played in Cluj in the last 85 years. Weeks later, Champions League hymn will be heard by fans for the very first time in our Club's history, as CFR 1907 Cluj will engage in a feverish battle against the best clubs in Europe.
In 2005 when the Club played in UEFA Intertoto Championship, the stadium undertook a complex construction and modernisation process. The number of fans attending the team's matches has increased exponentially during the past years. The investors decided to put 20 million euro behind a new wing and even more funds in order to increase the capacity of the arena up to 25,000 seats.
Thus, the stadium Dr. Constantin Radulescu, named after one of the most influencial figure in the history of CFR 1907 Cluj, will be ready to host Champions League matches starting with the fourth quarter of 2008.
