Lack of luck

Just like the game with Buzau, where the only missing element was luck, the game with Rapid proved again the lack of luck. With Oberman preferred over Semedo, CFR began the game with good creativity in the middle, and flair in front of the goal. Always first to the ball, Andone's boys had 2 early chances of scoring, when Ruiz streched Andrade (3) and Dubarbier sent the ball close to the left post, but on the wrong side. Worries began for CFR when Stancioiu almost injured himself during a confusion between defenders.

Sure of himself, Andone moved first, by replacing Oberman with Culio at the start of the second half. Another forcing period followed, but 3 minutes after the second half whistle, Dani received his second yellow card, making him CFR's first sent off player this season. The shock was felt immediately, Stancioiu dropping the ball into the net after a hard shot by Spadacio from 25 meters. CFR quickly regrouped around Trica and Peralta, constantly hitting with Dubarbier (61, huge chance) and Ruiz (62, strong shot).

CFR proved to be superior even in a 11 vs 10 battle, the rare attacks led by Rapid were stopped in their tracks by Tony, Cadu, Sousa and Perreira. The railworkers could have equalized in minute 81, but Didi`s header went away few inches from the post. After referee Bogaciu ignored a hands for Rapid, Peralta had a huge chance of scoring again. Deserted by Lady Luck, CFR players managed only to get another red card instead of a goal, through Dubarbier. He finished the game 1 minute earlier than his teammates.
