CFR 1907 Cluj started with a win the new season after defeating Astra Ploiești with 2-0. Only 16 minutes were enough for the railwaymen to score. Modou Sougou was the first player to score on home ground in an official game. The Senegalese player scored a beautiful goal with a volley shot after he was served perfectly by Bastos.
In the 60th minute of the game the same player, Sougou had another scoring chance, but the right post of the goal stood in his way. 9 minutes later our defender Nuno Diogo made it 2-0. Final score, 2-0 and the cherry-white team started a new season with a win, in a game in which the defenders Lionn- Diogo - Rada - Camora could not have been beaten and a in which the most scoring opportunities belonged to our team.
In the next round, CFR 1907 Cluj will face F.C.M. Târgu Mureș on the 30th of July 2011.
