Match report: Weak performance and result

CFR 1907 had a forcing start, with two big opportunities in the first 15 minutes. Semedo tested the opposing goalkeeper’s reflexes and newcomer Yssouf Kone took the left side, got in front of the goal but his shot met a Vaslui defender. The match was balanced until the 26th minute, when Dani tried to dribble 30 meters away from his own goal but was robbed of the ball by Temwanjera who passed to Burdujan, the former Rapid player doing nothing more than pushing the ball into the net. The railroaders felt the shock and neglected the offensive, being only the shadows of their former selves in the last season. The break followed and Andone substituted Oberman for Didi, trying to equalize. The second half was also weak for our team, and it seemed as if it was broken at the middle, powerless against Vaslui attacks. CFR 1907 managed to get back into the match through Cadu’s goal in the 61st minute, but Vaslui’s reply came the very next minute, when Burdujan scored again past Stancioiu. The Cluj players tried to force in the last minutes through Semedo (83) and Didi (87) but the match ended 2-1 to the home side. A disappointing result and CFR 1907 Cluj is slowly but surely losing sight of the teams in the first places.
