Ioan Andone: "We did not have enough determination"

At the press conference that followed last night’s fixture between CFR 1907 Cluj and Universitatea Craiova, 1-1, Ioan Andone declared himself disappointed by his players’ performance: “Not a good match considering what happened in Giulesti and I think that the result is equally satisfying. The first half was ours and the second could have given Craiova their win as well as ours. We lacked possession and felt the absence of Dubarbier and Dani, two very important players for us. Unfortunately, although we wanted to win, we couldn’t. Being our first tie at home, we have to play the way we did in Giulesti as soon as possible. Craiova surprised us, whenever they had the ball; they knew what to do with it. We could not block them, we did not have enough determination and aggression in our game.” Questioned about strikers Gustavo Oberman and Dieg Ruiz, our couch had this to say: “Ruiz was uninspired today. He is not a spectacular player, but he is useful to the team. Today, though, he wasn’t mobile. On the other hand, Oberman played well at the start, he pleased me.” Also, on the topic of strikers, Andone admitted the team needs Kone. “In this conditions we need Kone, someone to score. He might play next game if he trains all week.”
